Process
Understand first. Design with purpose.
JAG Form begins with investigation; understanding the objectives, context, operational needs, approval pathway, technical constraints, and meaning that may shape the work.
Integrated Programming
Integrated Programming is JAG Form’s structured pre-design investigation. It brings project objectives, context, user and operational needs, technical constraints, and approval considerations into a shared record before design advances.
1. Gather information
Understand the project, its context, the people it serves, and the constraints already in view through listening, research, and relevant precedent.
2. Analyze and synthesize
Bring the evidence and relevant voices together to identify priorities, dependencies, and questions that require decisions.
3. Validate and document
Review the findings, incorporate feedback, and establish a shared programming record to guide the next phase.
Bring the right knowledge into the room.
Depending on the project, the process may involve ownership, user or stakeholder groups, relevant authorities, consultants, construction or preconstruction expertise, and other project-specific specialists.
A record for the decisions ahead.
The resulting programming record can document objectives, values, user and operational needs, project requirements, design considerations, approvals, building systems, space criteria, and budget or schedule considerations appropriate to the commission.
Integrated Programming is intended to make information, priorities, constraints, and decisions visible earlier. It does not guarantee approvals, cost or schedule results, fewer review cycles, or the elimination of project risk and change.
